Membership

Being a member of the Rogers Honors Academy includes opportunities to learn about Top Colleges and

Universities, explore possible majors, develop college application and essay-writing skills, participate in ACT preparation programs, and expand critical thinking, problem-solving and research skills. There is no cost to be a member.

RHA scholars will experience a rigorous curriculum, excel in coursework and their relationships with others, and meet high expectations for personal conduct. Members should be academically-motivated, engage enthusiastically with new world experiences and diverse perspectives, be respectful in their interactions, and enthusiastic and caring citizens of their local and world community. . College Visits

Students will be given the opportunity to take a college visit during their membership in the Rogers Honors Academy.  (Depending on space, subsequent trips may be possible.)  Students are required to visit at least one top school – either on their own (documented college tour) or with the RHA. We have expanded on definition of top schools to include USN, CTCL and Princeton Review.  (Top schools are identified by US News and World Report, Top Colleges. We focus on the top 100 national universities: LINK and the top 50 liberal arts colleges: LINK

College Applications

During their Senior year, each RHA member must apply to at least two top schools in the US.

Community Service

Students should be involved in sustained, personally meaningful community service or work inside of or outside of the home. Community service may increase potential admission to top colleges and scholarship awards and it provides a learning opportunity beyond school.

  • Completed Online Application (follow link below)
  • 1 Teacher Recommendation (submit Teacher’s name and email in link below)
  • 1 Essay (within online application, link below)
  • 1 Questionnaire
  • Signed and accepted requirements and expectations.

 

NOTE: You will want to notify your teacher ahead of time that we will get in touch with them for a recommendation on your behalf and to expect our email. Once we review your completed materials, we will admit students who will be enthusiastic participants, who will take advantage of the RHA opportunities and who will best benefit from the resources provided.
